Every child that goes hungry in Central American tips over a chip in the long, lasting chain of the dominos effect. The same is true for every child who gets out of extreme poverty and has the opportunity to enjoy the basic physiological needs of shelter, food, and rest, which consequently will bring them to feel a sense of love, belonging, and self-esteem on their way to self-actualization, according to Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs. Malnutrition and chronic malnutrition is preventable and treatable.
